Houses in Knysna, Nursing in Knysna

In 1986 a nurse from Sedgefield and a doctor from Knysna started working together to help those who needed care at home. When an individual is welcomed into the loving arms of Hospice Care, his or her physical, spiritual and emotional needs become the focus of the professionals who will provide care. An individual care plan is created based on those needs. The reality of diseases such as cancer and HIV and AIDS in Africa is that many millions of adults and children lose all quality of life and suffer long, painful deaths. This suffering is completely unnecessary and by promoting palliative care the African Palliative Care Association (APCA) aims to stop it. To Promote quality in life, dignity in death and support in bereavement for all living with a life-threatening illness by supporting member hospices and partner organisations. Children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions have very specific and unique palliative care needs, often different to those of adults. The International Children’s Palliative Care Network (ICPCN) shares a vision that these total needs should be met to encompass physical, emotional, spiritual and developmental aspects of care. What are the best ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer? The World Health Organisation adopts a resolution to recognise the importance of palliative care. We offer comprehensive asbestos and mesothelioma information, along with an emphasis on the legal options available to asbestos victims and their families. The legal options available to asbestos victims are of the utmost importance, so that victims and their families can pay for medical expenses and receive compensation for the pain and suffering they endure. All of the information we provide is completely free. Joanne Lynn, MD, is a geriatrician, hospice physician, health services researcher, quality improvement advisor, and policy advocate who has focused upon shaping American health care so that every person can count on living comfortably and meaningfully through the period of serious illness and disability in the last years of life, at a sustainable cost to the community. There was no name, no office, no funding, no mission statement, simply two people working together to care for others.
