The Water Academy has been leading the field of quality water services sector training since The Water Academy is widely recognised as a deeply committed and well-established water services training provider. As a professional chemical engineer with over 45 years experience in all segments of the water sector, Kevin made a proactive decision to move from the field of engineering into the classroom. He felt called to share his extensive knowledge of water services engineering and to provide a professional structure for much-needed training in water and waste-water management. Kevin, together with Jane Treffry-Goatley who joined the company in 2006, now head a dedicated team of water industry trainers and facilitators, each of whom has years of field experience, specialist expertise and skills to pass on to learners. In 2006 The Water Academy relocated its head office to Knysna in the Western Cape, maintaining a sales office in Durban and accounts in Port Elizabeth. The Water Academy has provided water management training services and skills programmes to numerous municipalities and water boards throughout Southern Africa. We pride ourselves in offering consistency and reliability in the water training services we provide to our clients. Our water industry experts work on site with clients to assure best outcomes and affirm partnerships. To date The Water Academy has successfully certified over fifteen thousand leaners in this key area of environmental resource management. In 2007 Kevin and Jane established a publishing and printing company to develop and print professional water management training materials (Modules) for The Water Academy’s short courses and water sector learnership programmes. This unique position allows us to respond swiftly to advances in water industry technology and keep our water sector training materials concurrent with the latest water industry standards. Our intention is to continue to offer quality, professional water management training and issue certificates of competence to many more learners. Our wish is to empower individuals, uplift communities and preserve the precious resource of water for future generations. Our philosophy incorporates the facilitation and development of capacity, prosperity and performance in the water sector through ethical partnerships with individuals and public and private organisations in order to provide clean water for all.
